MCS and Young AFCEAN Tour

MCS and Young AFCEAN Tour

Tampa, FL – Members of the Young Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association (AFCEA) took a tour of the new Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) production facility, headquartered at MCS of Tampa.  MCS of Tampa has partnered with ITT Corporation’s Advanced Engineering and Sciences Division to manufacture the new cutting-edge, high-tech equipment that will be installed in various locations throughout the U.S.

The tour consisted of explaining the ADS-B Program, which is an FAA-approved program to install a GPS tracking system for commercial aircrafts to provide adequate data of surrounding air space. MCS is a corporate sponsor of the Tampa-St. Petersburg AFCEA Chapter, an ethical forum for advancing professional knowledge and relationships in the fields of communications, IT, intelligence and global security. The Young AFCEAN group gives an opportunity for chapter members under the age of 40 to meet and discuss technologies and their implications and use in society.
