ERCES / BDA / DAS
The objective of an Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement System (ERCES) is to enhance wireless signals within buildings. ERCES are frequently implemented to enhance the signal intensity of emergency responders, thereby ensuring that their radios operate optimally in critical situations. In locations such as basements, multi-story structures, and expansive complexes where radio frequencies are resistant to penetration, these systems are indispensable for improving communication. The BDA (Bi-Directional Amplifier) main unit, the donor antenna, and the DAS (distributed antenna system) comprise the system. Installation of an ERCES network in specific structures is required by a number of building regulations to ensure that emergency responders have adequate coverage for communication.
