01 · AFIMSC Information Technology – Infrastructure Maintenance (ITIM)
Unified C4-2, a joint venture between Mainstream IP Solutions (MIPS) and MCS of
Tampa, Inc. (MCS) is an awardee of the AFIMSC IT-IM BPA, which delivers turn-key
sustainment and modernization for Air Force enterprise communications infrastructure.
With over 30 years of combined expertise, the team supports cable, antenna,
microwave, voice, Giant Voice, and Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems across CONUS
and OCONUS installations— including Digital/IP Voice for secure communications and
copper/fiber optic cabling for high-speed data, voice, and control networks to ensure

Scope
The AFIMSC IT-IM BPA sustains operational readiness of commoncore communications by providing Information Technology Infrastructure Maintenance services, including:
- Modernization: Installation of new infrastructure to support emerging mission requirements and capability refresh efforts
- Repair & Replace: Troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of defective or end-of-life components
- Routine Maintenance: Preventive maintenance inspections and routine sustainment activities to extend system lifecycles
- Inventory Services: Comprehensive equipment inventory and configuration management
- Special Projects: One-time requirements within scope that enhance mission effectiveness
Supported Systems
AFIMSC IT-IM BPA provides maintenance and sustainment services to ensure the sustainment and operational readiness of common core communication systems, including:
- Digital/IP Voice: Provides secure, high-quality voice communications across base and enterprise networks
- Cable Infrastructure: Copper and fiber optic cabling supporting high-speed data, voice, and control systems
- Giant Voice (Mass Notification): Base-wide emergency alerting and notification systems for personnel safety
- Antenna Systems: RF antennas for voice, data, and telemetry links supporting fixed and mobile mission systems
- Microwave Transport: High-bandwidth, point-to-point links delivering resilient connectivity between remote installations
- LMR Base/Backbone: Land Mobile Radio infrastructure enabling secure, reliable command-and-control voice communications
All work aligns with DAF Technical Orders and applicable commercial standards; activities adhere to IA/cyber practices to safeguard mission systems.

(Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense)
The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) has awarded the first in a series of awards for the Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense (SHIELD) Multiple Award Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract. Emphasizing the need for rapid, scalable responses to complex threats, the program aims to accelerate the acquisition of advanced technologies that underpin a multi-layered homeland defense architecture (Golden Dome). MCS of Tampa, Inc. was in the initial set of staggered awards for SHIELD.
Scope
The MDA SHIELD IDIQ provides a flexible contracting mechanism for acquiring a wide range of services that support the development, testing, fielding, and sustainment of the U.S. missile defense system. This broad scope enables MDA to quickly leverage qualified industry partners across 19 mission-critical domains.
